A security hut gives your guards a dry, warm and secure base right where it matters: at the gate, the barrier or the site entrance. Karmod designs and manufactures prefabricated security huts, also known as guard huts, guard booths, security kiosks or gatehouses, in our own factory. Every hut leaves us finished: insulated, glazed and wired, ready to be lifted onto a prepared base.

Security Hut Models

We build security huts in five construction types. The right choice depends on how long the hut will stay in place, how exposed the site is and how it needs to look.

GRP security huts: a moulded glass-fibre reinforced polyester shell. Lightweight, weatherproof and low-maintenance.

Insulated panel security huts: sandwich panel walls and roof on a steel frame. Our most economical option, built to almost any size.

Composite-clad security huts: Metro City, Kompo City and Metro Lux combine an insulated structure with cement-board or composite cladding for a more architectural finish.

Precast concrete security huts: precast cladding over a steel frame for a robust, permanent look.

Armoured and bullet-resistant guard booths: up to BR7 protection with Hardox 500 steel, for high-risk sites.

Selected models can also be supplied with a built-in toilet compartment.

Inside the Hut: Fit-Out and Options

Each hut is laid out for long shifts, with room for a desk, monitoring equipment and storage. Standard fit-out includes LED lighting, power sockets and a distribution board. Options include:

  • Heating or air conditioning
  • Additional or larger windows and reinforced doors
  • Shelving and built-in worktops
  • Data and internet cabling for CCTV and access control
  • Built-in toilet compartment (selected models)
  • Your corporate colours, logo and signage

Security Hut Prices

The price of a security hut depends on the construction type, size, glazing, fit-out and delivery location. Armoured guard booths are priced per project.

Delivery and Installation in the UK

Standard models are usually ready to ship within 1–2 weeks of order. Huts with bespoke sizes or finishes take around 4–6 weeks. Transport time to the UK will be confirmed with your quote.

Most huts arrive fully assembled on a flatbed lorry and are lifted into position by crane or forklift. On site you will need:

  • A level, load-bearing base, such as a concrete slab or concrete pads. We supply base dimensions with your order.
  • Access for the delivery vehicle and lifting equipment.
  • A power supply, connected to the hut by a qualified electrician.

Installation is straightforward, and our team will guide you through every step, from base preparation to final positioning.

Choosing the Right Security Hut

  • Temporary sites (construction, events): GRP or insulated panel huts are quick to deliver and easy to move.
  • Permanent entrances (business parks, residential, public buildings): composite-clad or precast huts give a finish that suits the surrounding architecture.
  • Busy barriers and car parks: a compact GRP or panel hut with good all-round visibility.
  • High-risk sites (critical infrastructure, government, embassies): armoured or bullet-resistant guard booths.

Our Security Huts in the UK

We have supplied cabins to customers in England, including a precast security hut installed on a street in England, as well as sales kiosks for Manchester United merchandise stores. Since 1986 we have completed more than 900 projects in 140 countries.

Quality and Certification

Karmod security huts are produced in our own factory under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and an ISO 10002:2018 customer satisfaction management system, and carry CE marking.

What is the difference between a security hut, a guard booth and a gatehouse?

The terms are largely interchangeable. "Security hut" and "guard booth" usually describe a compact unit for one or two people at a gate or barrier, while "gatehouse" often refers to a larger or more permanent building. We manufacture all three.

Do I need planning permission for a security hut?
